55th Anniversary

Mallory Sonalert is celebrating the 55^th anniversary of the SC Series of 30mm panel alarms which were introduced in 1968. This product line is still very relevant today because Mallory continually works to improve and expand our offering using customer feedback and new technology.

While the Sonalert audible product line continued to expand in the 1970’s  and 80’s, SMT technology enabled Mallory to introduce miniature board level buzzers in the mid-90’s which feature high reliability & superb performance in an ultra-compact package.

In the mid-2000’s, Mallory added 30mm panel mount models with sounds controlled by software rather than circuitry. This change reduced the time needed to generate a new sound from 3 months to 1 day. Mallory also decreased the height of the panel mount AC pulsing models from 1.9 inches down to 0.8 inches (58% reduction) which increased reliability and reduced cost.

Starting in the late-2000’s, Mallory launched our IEC 60601-1-8 medical alarms which initially featured the 23 mm diameter MSS Series, but expanded quickly to include the 45 mm diameter SBS & SBT Series. In 2022, existing medical models were approved by UL to meet the requirements of IEC 60601-1-8 AM2 (2020) which is the latest version of this IEC specification.

Through R&D and utilizing advanced technology, Mallory introduced industrial 22 mm panel alarms in 2010 which are the lowest cost and most functional in the industry. Key features include:
