Mallory’s MSW Series of medical alarms, introduced in April, are now available for purchase through Mallory’s authorized distributors. These 3.3 to 5.5 Vdc rated alarms provide 1 to 3 medical priority sounds depending on the model chosen. Additionally, there are models that combine 1 or 2 medical tones with a 2500 Hz standard sound suitable for non-medical audible indication needs.
The MSW Series, sized 23 x 13 mm, is approved by UL & CUL to comply with IEC 60601-1-8 AMD2 (2020), and they utilize the IEC provided sound files. These alarms feature a specially designed acoustic sound chamber which allows for a loud sound level & high-fidelity sound that cannot be achieved with a bare speaker alone.

The MSW Series of medical alarms boasts user-friendly features and seamless integration into medical equipment designs. Mallory is now offering demo boards which showcase the alarm’s clear and loud sounds. Contact Mallory if you need one to demonstrate its impressive performance for those involved in the design of medical equipment requiring IEC 60601 approval.
Mallory 100% tests each medical alarm to verify compliance to IEC 60601-1-8. This comprehensive testing program involves checking the sound level & electrical current values, recording the alarm-generated sounds, and correlating all saved data with the unique serial number specified on the alarm label.
Mallory’s IEC 60601-1-8 Medical Alarms are manufactured in Indianapolis, Indiana with lead-times of stock to 4 weeks. They are UL & CUL approved, and 100% tested by Mallory to IEC 60601-1-8.
