Mallory offers bare speakers and ones mounted in plastic housings including 3 models in an SMT package. Mallory’s bare speakers feature a range of sizes and wattages ranging from a 10 x 3 mm round speaker with 0.3 Watts of power up to a 87 x 87 x 34 mm bracketed speaker with 12 Watts of power. Most speakers have an impedance of 8 ohms, but other ratings are available, and all of Mallory’s speakers feature water and fluid resistant mylar cones. Mallory’s mounted speakers are available in SMT, PC pins, or flange mount package types. Mounted speakers have good sound level performance over a narrow frequency range whereas bare speakers have a much wider frequency range performance. Mallory’s speakers are suitable for consumer, industrial, and non-critical medical applications.
Mallory’s omnidirectional microphone elements utilize electret and dynamic (foil) technology. They have an operating voltage range of 1 to 10 volts and are available with diameters ranging from 4 to 9.7 mm. Termination options include solder tabs, PC Pins, wires, and solderless bullseye. The sensitivity rating of these microphones meets or exceeds the ratings of comparable microphone elements on the market.
